Fireworks

Fireworks!
What lights up the sky on the Fourth of July.
What lights up our bodies during radiation therapy.

No matter how sick we are,
we must continue seeing the beauty of life,
and celebrate it with color and music.

Not every day is a picnic,
but each day is precious
because we know what it is to be alive.

Let’s remind ourselves that
we are more–much more–than our cancer.
Each of us is a uniquely beautiful fireworks display!
