morning tanka

salmon pink sunrise
mere fluttering butterflies
ephemeral joy
giving way to the alarm clock
a hot shower, then to work

under the feeder
flurry of activity
squirrels chasing their tails
one catches his, one does not
happiness, the tail we chase
