if you sit long enough
with an open heart
and watch the flowers in your garden
beside the forest trail, or
even by the side of the road
you’ll see how they grow
you’ll find no indecipherable code
no intractable secret to be discovered, or
even anything different
than anything else in life
that makes flowers grow
if you sit long enough
with an open heart
you’ll see your own flowering beauty–
springing from nowhere
going nowhere, like the flowers
you’ll see that the flowers
like your own true nature
are part of a stream, flowing
through you, past you, and eventually
merging with all else you’ve imagined
Fadzly: Thanks for stopping and commenting. Glad you liked this poem and put it to good use.
These are very fine words Don, so fine that touches ones heart very deeply and so fine that I’ve quoted it along with a photo of a flower which I’ve taken recently and here’s the link to it.
Kathleen: Thanks. Ditto to all the above. So great spending time with you and Dan. I’m sure everything will work out just as it should. Take care and good to see you again on the blogs! Talk with you guys real soon!
Kai: Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed and hope you’re well.
Wow Don… Wonderful poem! ahhh….
It was so “fine”, to finally meet you! What a heart-full meeting with both you and Richard. I look forward to meeting Mary at some point, maybe a visit to Cleveland or… at our new home in WV… should it come to pass. 🙂
(and the photos on fliker are great!)
beautiful
Borut: Thanks. My thoughts as well. Same line of thinking (non-thinking). It’s all part of the same thing (no-thing). So are we. We just forget that we are no different than anything else. Truth springs from a plum, a flower, a poem, a word, a smile, and from nothing.
Dan: Thanks. Glad you enjoyed!
Opening one’s heart? I suppose it takes, at least for some of us, time, the know-how even?!:) I was watching the plums ripening in our garden just an hour ago… And I started to wonder… Are they any bigger than a day or two ago?! Finally, I couldn’t help myself… I had to touch one… I suppose I felt, at least in part, a little bit like the incredulous Thomas the Apostle: Here it is, a plum, appearing as if out of nowhere… Is it there at all!?:)
Excellent!
