Every time I see you
Reminds me…
I don’t wanna walk alone
Reach out, take my hand
Walk away with me
Can’t get past you…
No matter how hard I try
You tie my heart in knots
Impossible to untie
You linger in my thoughts
Sometimes you make me cry
Can’t shake you from my dreams
Don’t even wanna try
Just give us one more chance
To be what we can be
Let the magic of the moment
Paint our hearts, set us free
Don’t wanna walk alone
Reach out, take my hand
Walk away with me
Don’t wanna walk alone
Reach out, take my hand
Walk away with me

You got it…another early 1970s love poem
that wanted to be a love song.
Blondie: Thanks. Glad you do. Haven’t seen much of you lately.
Love this one Don! Reflections of the heart speak to me. Very sweet……nice to walk down memory lane!
Andrew: Thanks. I can just hear with piano giving music to these words…
really, really nice!
Hey Nick, What can I say, but that too was a part of me. It was a joyous, open, and well, loving time of life. Poetry was, er, more music than verse back then. Hopin’ that you’re well. Thanks for droppin’ by.
Kai, thanks. Glad you liked this oldie.
very sweet:)
Has that folksy twang that had me thinking of American Pie and pining for the days when pop music actually had a legitimate message buried in it and not – ‘Oops, I did It Again.’
Polona: Thanks. You are very kind. My poetry was different back then. I loved lyrics and poetry that seemed like music in my head.
I may try my hand at the old stuff again and see how it comes out. It’s all different when you are 20 years old and everything in life is new. Not that we can’t have that now, but it takes another form.
and even back then you were a fine poet 🙂
Thanks Jel. Appreciate you stopping by. Go 70s! And, go now!
Thanks Dan. You’re just living your poetry instead of writing it. Good idea!
Singer-songwriter DIA…
What still is? 😕
that was sweet, 😉
I love the 70’s
morning Don,
Pat: Thanks. Too funny. It still is…
Love poems, love songs, back then love was free!!
