Haiku Moment

Haiku
you can feel its eyes
…hungrily scanning the field
……red-tailed hawk in view
Wednesday Haiku
…golfball plops in pond
……sleeping bullfrogs awaken
………golfer blames the pond
Monday Haiku
legs rubbed together
…grasshopper calling its mate
……summer’s end coming
Tuesday Haiku
heavy rain last night
…a fallen tree in the yard
……mourning doves watch on
Friday Haiku
from the forest edge
…listening to daisies sing
……butterflies delight
Thursday Haiku
nightingales singing
…moonlight’s soft rustles and creaks
……the moment brings peace
Deep Forest Oneness
deep forest oneness,
wholly abundant with life,
overflowing with beauty,
filling all who receive it
without judgment or question.
healing what is broken–
inside and out,
while asking nothing in return.
imposing nothing, and most importantly
taking nothing away.
Watching a Hummingbird Snare a Spider
The hummingbird snared and ate the spider–
straight out of the spider’s dangling web.
Not something you’d expect
on this early July evening.
But then again,
how much do we really know
about the workings of nature,
let alone the appetite of the hummingbird,
who graces our presence
with his beating wings
and unmistakeable humming song?
